Title I/Parent Involvement

Parents and schools need to work together for the betterment of the students. Parents play an important role in providing support and building the confidence of their children. Parents should check the available resources, as well as some of the tips and activities they can use to develop their children’s confidence and improve their school experience.

When parents are involved in their child/children's education the following happens:

  • Higher grades and test scores
  • Better attendance
  • Greater completion rate of homework
  • More involvement in extra-curricular activities
  • Improved attitude and better all-around behavior (Popkin 1995)

  • Attend extra-curricular activities
  • Meet with your child's teacher regularly
  • Make sure that your child has a nutritious breakfast each day
