Career Day

Ellenboro Elementary had a career day on Friday, March 18th, for students in third, fourth and fifth grades. We had 28 presenters from a variety of career fields visit and share with more than 300 students!

Special thanks go to Ms. Brunson, our school counselor, for organizing the event, our PTO volunteers, and the following career presenters: Allison Flynn (reporter – Rutherford Weekly), Brian Vasilik (caricature artist – Caricatures by Brian Vasilik), Ferrell Hamrick (fire chief – Forest City Fire Department), Tommy Haire (electrical engineer – Rutherford EMC), Clinton Calhoun (Wildlife Damage Control Agent), Christine Bach (nutritionst – Fresh Perspectives Nutrition Counseling), Jennifer Shoenfelt (community relations/media – Rutherford Regional), Kaleb Johnson (paramedic – Rutherford County EMS), Brian Moore (dentist – Blanton, Miller and Moore, DDS), Ann Calton (antique dealer – Victorian Lace Antique Mall), Naima White (veterinarian – USDA), Holly Bailey (pharmacist – Spindale Drug), Bruce Green (forensics detective – Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office), Ashley Wright (ERHS student – immunizations), Tommy Greene (ERHS automotive tech teacher – ERHS students), Kim Hollifield (State Employees Credit Union), Kiva Fuller (general manager – Forest City Owls), Janet Mason (superintendent – Rutherford County Schools), Doug Jennings (transportation driver – Walmart), Travis Bach (engineer – Diamler), Tara Mauney (ITF – Rutherford County Schools), Ronnie Harrill (builder – Ronnie Harrill Builders), Macey Strickland (dance instructor – Dream Weavers Dance Studio), Wendy Hodge (hairstylist, nail technician – Cuttin’ Up on Mane Street), Aaron Connor (photographer), Trish Yelton (occupational therapist – TherapyLand), Kerry Brock (engineer – Parker Hannifan), and Mike Hardin (travel agent – Just Cruising & Tours).

Once again, we were very pleased that so many members of our community, including some of our parents, were willing to come and share about their careers. Our students learned a lot and had a great time!
