Dear Colleagues,
Area road conditions improved again today under warmer temperatures. While some secondary roads are still affected by packed ice or isolated refreezing, conditions have generally improved enough to safely resume school operations tomorrow.
Rutherford County Schools will operate on a one-hour delay on Friday, January 30, so that the morning commute occurs during daylight hours for improved visibility. School buses will not travel on roads that remain substantially affected by packed ice or refreezing. A list of roads closed to school bus traffic is available on our website, on our social media channels, or via this QR code:
We recognize that road conditions vary widely across the county. Schools will work flexibly with students who are unable to attend tomorrow due to lingering ice, and students will not be penalized for excused absences related to unsafe travel conditions.
Take care, and please travel safely.
